About Mai Pai Thai Cuisine


Mai Pai Thai is a Family run business. Mama Al and husband Jay are cooking up meals with love while you’ll see sons Mai and Pei running around serving guests and helping out. Pei has been trying his hand in the kitchen lately, making curries and appetizers (and we think he is quite good!). Daughter Nam runs the front of the house. You’ll see her serving tables, answering phones, and checking out guests with a smile on her face.


Mai Pai Thai is healthy, authentic, and fresh. Every Monday, Mama Al and crew travel to Memphis to select fresh produce and ingredients for the week's upcoming meals. From eggplant, to fresh Thai basil, and from bell pepper to mangoes, you can taste the difference in lovingly selected produce and fresh ingredients.


Our History


At the young age of 16, Mama Al moved from Thailand to Oregon. Mama Al started as a server helping prep at Mama Jet's restaurant (Mama Al's future mother in law). Mama Al quickly discovered her passion for people and food working in this role. In Oregon, she loved to share Thai culture and cuisine and used to teach classes to the locals on how to make spring rolls.



Mama Al's mission to bring Thai culture and share the love of Thai food to growing cities that haven't experienced it yet, has led her to successfully curate many restaurants across the US.

Mama Al's mother, Mama Yupin came from Thailand to help Mama Al to continue the family tradition of restauranteering.

After finding success at these restaurants Mama Al has been able to sell these successful running businesses to new families to continue what she started.
